Q. Will it work with older iPad models with Apple Lightning or 30-pin connector?
A - NO, it will only work with USB-C devices like the latest 2018 iPad Pro which has a USB-C connector. It will not work with older iPad models with Apple Lightning or 30-pin connectors.
Q. Will the HyperDrive work with other USB-C devices other than the iPad Pro?
A - YES, the grip is removable to work with any USB-C device including Mac, PC, and Android devices. Please use with the dedicated extension cable when using with other USB-C devices.
Q. Can HyperDrive's HDMI port work with a VGA monitor using HDMI to VGA cable?
A- NO, it won't work with a VGA monitor. The HyperDrive HDMI port will work with an HDMI monitor only using direct HDMI to HDMI cable. Please make sure your Display is set to correct HDMI input source
Q.How to view files in your external devices in iPadOS (with import/export PDFs for photos/videos)
A - To view the contents of your external hard drive, you need to locate the Files app. If you have not rearranged the icons, it typically is in the dock at the bottom of the screen (look for the blue folder with a white background. If you cannot find the folder, from the home page, swipe down from the middle of the screen and search "Files". Or, if you can't find it that way, you can ask Siri to "Open Files". Once there, you need to click on Browse on the bottom and expand "Locations" and locate your drive from the list.
Q. External HDD / Pendrive not getting detected when connected to USB 3.1 port of HyperDrive
A - This could be due to one of the following reasons -
i) iPad Pro is still running on old iOS software and not updated to the latest iPadOS operating system.
iI) USB storage device is not having iPadOS / MacOS readable file storage format. Please change it to exFAT or any other Mac compatible file storage format. (Note - Most of the new external HDDs ship with NTFS as default file storage format which is readable in MacOS but not readable in iPadOS)
iiI) Some HDDs require more power to operate and get detected. Due to hardware design limitations by Apple, USB devices can draw a limited power from the MacBook. So, use a storage device that requires less power to operate (say 1TB or less)
Q. There is no video out to TV/monitor from my USB C smartphone/tablet using HDMI port of HyperDrive.
A - Currently, there are many smartphones/tablet model in the market that has a USB C port but only a select few of them ( mostly highly expensive models) support video output over USB C port. product is genuine and quality-wise it's too good and they provide different types of rubber case for it to fit and they also provide a wired rubber case and it's useful when u are using iPad with a case on it ..and it heats up while using and the only plus point of this product is all the products will work properly and the 3.5mm jack also works fine and the quality of audio won't change even while charging ..and if u compare with other type c hub products available in online this is the best other items won't even work ...in next-gen of this item they should try to avoid the heating issues.
